It seems that yaoi and Texas go together like soap and water!
Despite A-Kon’s misguided efforts to quell the scene [not allowing yaoi/yuri bits in the cosplay scenes, canceling their yaoi/yuri theme after hours ‘fests’, and lecturing Komik Marketers and Dealer Room staffs about the dangers of ‘out in the open’ yaoi doujinshi and comics; the fans were more than happy to support it, with their cash.
I find the Convention overzealousness about the Ys completely lame, considering the amount half naked loli fanserve in their grab gabs, and the fact that scantily glad women were handing out Suicide Girls business cards to all age con attendees, standing in line waiting to register.
The popularity of RUSH at A-Kon was astounding! I want to thank all of you who support RUSH. You know the stories in it, and you were more than happy to scoop up RUSH #1 from my table, without a second though…unless you were under 18, sadly, I couldn’t sell it to you.
Between Lara Yokoshima’s Master and my Riley walking around showing his frontage, RUSH must remain for those, over 18.
Again, thanks for Supporting RUSH, as well as my own title, Only Words. You fans rock, and all of the yaoi dealers at the con were extremely happy by your show of support.
