Previews (Master! ch. 3)

Posted by: Lara Yokoshima @ 12:15 am

Well, even if chapter 2 hasn’t come out yet due to a delay with Rush #1, I already finished Master!’s third chapter… and I wanna share! ^_^

I like to call this one the “Shen chapter”. Pretty obvious why… ^_~
Enjoy the prevs!

Whee i’m so glad i managed to draw and screentone everything so fast *o*’
i wish i had a screentone + bg’s slave T_T;

anyways following dry ice’s idea, small teaser for chapter 2, this time more plot, less secks (boring to draw :c ) i’m sorry for not being creative but with amount of work i’m dealing with now, my brain just shut down D: yay for randomness~

Historic or Contemporary?

Posted by: Gynocrat @ 1:26 pm

Hello RUSH readers, I’m working on an historic series pitch for a gay comic publisher [staples and color…sorry manga fans!], and I’ve found that I truly enjoy writing about the past. I recently finished my share of a BL light-novel project with C.B. Potts and Laura Carboni [it’s in their hands now!] which again, takes places in the past.

I tend to prefer my BL set in the past, perhaps because most contemporary BL from the Japan doesn’t speak to me on a cultural level, and so, often comes off as lame. At least with historical work, I can suspend disbelief enough to just enjoy the story. ^^’ Yes, I’m anal.

I know RUSH has at least one story set in the past, but for the most part, many of them are present-day tales. So I must ask, as readers of BL or gay comics, what sort of stories do you like most, historic or contemporary? Why? Any recs?

[oh, and admin–can we get a ‘fans’ category tag.] Thanks. ^_-

Venom Fang (Chapter 2) preview.

Posted by: `dry ice @ 2:58 pm

I hope I gave away just enough to keep you guys enticed for now. Enjoy the film grain, haha! 8D;

A while ago, Areku and I were talking about the length of our storylines. As for Venom Fang, we’re estimating about 25-30 chapters (around 25 pages every installment) — that makes 5+ years worth of RUSH issues! Just wonderful. Erm… OwO

Almost done with inking + two new characters~

Posted by: Goku @ 5:20 pm

Haven’t been here for a while .. D:
Anyways I almost finished inking all pages, so only screentoning’s left *dances*
yay for easter break~ with current school pwnage i wouldnt be able to finish everything so fast Dx

anyways here’s small image spam. For people who knows orginal ‘guardian angel’ plot from online form, remember the doggies riiight?XD
So once i thought it would be fun if they also had some personalities and would affect the plot somehow and tadah, i forced radittz to turn ‘em into humans when they are not into ‘hunting’. Unlike in wolf’s rain they are naked when they change into humans lol xD
Expect some small yaoish omake with them for rush 02 *heart* of course in human form …;

hiji kun's angel
and here’s hiji kun’s guardian angel~ I’ve changed his design a little as well :F

and here are doggies ~ we still have to name them.

doggies1

and that’s all for the spam, take care :D

April Fools, and Convention Time!

Posted by: Gynocrat @ 8:25 pm

No April Fools? No jokes yesterday worth having. Wow, this country’s become so conservative! ((^_^)).

April is a BUZY time for me, and Laura Carboni. For one, Laura’s decided to get married. That’s right RUSHers, she’s taking herself off the market. 0_0. She’s marrying the love of her life, and moving to Taranto Italy! I’m very jealous, not because I think her fiancé is hot or anything, but because I LOVE TARANTO ITALY. Don’t you hate it when your friends get to do all the cool stuff? So we’ll be the only members of Team Rush who’re* married. >.> That means, you can expect ZERO romance in our future stories. 0___0.

Convention time is here. Man, there’s a lot that goes into getting prepared for a convention, even if you just plan to just sell some books and doujinshi in an artist alley. I know lots of you out there are artists, and so you know the amount of prep-work it takes to get everything ready, just to sell your works [fan and pro books, and prints]; you must make sure your publisher gets your books to you on time [if you’re a pro]—you have to make sure your printer gets your artwork to you on time [if you just sell illustrations]—you must pay for your table, and membership to the con, on time [usually months in advance-yuk]—and if you’re lucky, get a non-smoking motel room that you don’t have to share with anyone…ON TIME. The month of April will be spent preparing for con appearances in two Texas cities: Dallas [A-kon June 1-3: I’ll be at Table D, #25], and San Antonio [San Japan, July 13-15]. I’ll have copies of RUSH 1 and 2, my new graphic novel, Only Words, as well as my works from other publishers—and my Gungrave/Trigun fan doujinshi. I’ll be giving out free postcards, and hanging out with all my friends, many of whom I haven’t seen in ages. Cons are great, once you get there…it’s the prep time that’s killer.

Anyone else going to a con this year? If so, which one?
Any in Texas??!

*looks like whore, LMAO!
