Extortion? Why Not.
I’ve neglected this place, and that’s a shame. My apologies to everyone who watches this blog who’re actual fans of RUSH, and my apologies to our editor, who set this blog up so that we could have a place to talk, which I haven’t done in far too long!
I was discussing Riley Leary with Laura Carboni one day, and the subject of ‘hypothetical’ extortion came up. So I ask you, anyone reading this entry…
If you had the opportunity, would you steal from a Mafioso?
If you worked for someone you knew was a criminal, would you take advantage and ‘borrow’ some of their funds? If you worked for the likes of Nico Cabrini from Roulette, or Tony Soprano, or Sal Minnetta of the Black Donnelly’s…would you help yourself to their extra cash? It’s not like they’re going to call the cops on you! LOL!
Of course, they do have their own cops…don’t they? =_=;

Since I live in the middle of a Tony Soprano neighborhood, I’d have to say no, based on the theory of “don’t shit where you eat.”

Oh sure! Stealing from the little dirt bags is ok, not guys that can bury yer whole family. ^_^v Wasn’t there a movie about some guys that crossed some small time hoods? It had Dennis Leary in it, and Emilio Estevez and Jeremy Piven…damn, what was that movie! That was good movie, Peter Greene was hot.

I wouldn’t do it…unless I was way more in shape…so I can run from the bullets. XD btw, I love Rush, great artists, great writers, lovely printing quality. A++ +10~!

Well… If i was a criminal already? Can it get any worse? I have nothing to loose cause each day could be my last day. Either being shot by someone from another Mafia family or when i get inprisoned or shot by a police man… So i think, “lent” some money from my boss… I might be self confident enough thinking, as he trusts me, that he wont get beind it and i would have given the money back before anyone noticed… So the closer you are to the boss, the better is your opportunity to do something that way. I think Riley is close enough… Why not. Of course it would not be something I WOULD DO! But hell, i am just a normal human and not criminal that way… so yeah… Thinking like a person such as Riley… I would do it…
That’s at least what i think… XD

Possibly if I had no choice i might…just make confirmation guns are not loaded and bullets not accessible (hah like that would ever happen xD) or else try to manipulate someone to do it with me/do it for me xD;;;

Hehe… well… It is, but i believe when Lery started it he did not calculate that anyone would be catching him so he might not have worried there… At some point you are so pro and full of yourself that you think nothing and no one could stop you… I have read in the newspaper about ppl who murder someone and thinking they would never get caught either eventhough they know, like in the US, they’d die if anyone would catch them… Still they do it and nothing can keep them from doing so… I believe with him it’s simlar…
…and then again… i think that, in the manga, it’s not that bad having Colletti comming after you *laughs* *cough*
Oki… but you know what i mean, right? ^_- It’s a matter of how REALISTIC you want the story to be… hehehe

Why yes, I’m at that point right now. LOL! Just kidding. I actually got rejected by two publishers this month…both on the same day. I cried to Akito [she was stuck on Skype with me, and couldn’t get away!], and then I felt ok. XD

Being the evil coward that I am, I would only help myself to funds if I had 99.99% certainty that I’d totally get away with it… but what to do with that .01% of failure my paranoid side will bother me with? And thus, I’ll never commit any crime worth speaking of, I’m paranoid…
